Professional Learning
Thank you for visiting our web page!!! Sumter County Schools’ professional learning process is the means by which teachers, administrators, support staff, and other school and system employees acquire and refine understandings, skills, and commitment necessary to create and support high levels of learning for all students. Our process of professional learning will focus primarily on increasing student academic achievement by making continuous improvement with school organization, educator knowledge, skills, and curriculum.
As you visit our department’s web page you will find procedures for completing your request for professional leave (e.g. professional leave request, evaluation feedback forms). We also have available for you forms needed after you complete your professional learning events (e.g. tax exempt, expense forms).
Professional learning has assumed several responsibilities over the course of this school term. Within our department we have implemented Capital Impact, full implementation of Teacher Keys Effectiveness System, Leader Keys Effectiveness System, Carnegie Learning (Mathematics 6-12), and Envision Math (K-5 grades), Writing to Win, Response to Intervention (RTI) and even more. Our initiatives are research-based/evidence based and significant to improving the performance of all students in Sumter County.
Please use our web page as a resource of information. You will find links, photos, and presentations of various professional learning activities that will support your learning and needs for teaching.
