During the June Board of Education meeting, Mr. Walter Knighton, Superintendent, recognized outstanding students for the fourth nine weeks of the 2022-2023 school year. Pre-Kindergarten through 12th-grade students were nominated by their teacher and then selected by their principal. The criteria for the nomination were: all A’s, excellent attendance and model behavior. The students and their parents were invited to attend the June Board of Education meeting. As their names were called, Superintendent Knighton presented the students with an “Exemplary Student” yard sign to be displayed in their yard.

Sumter County High School 2023 Honor Graduates Receive iPads During the 2023 Baccalaureate program held Thursday, May 25th Dr. Marnie Dutcher, Principal of Sumter County High School presented the Honor Graduates with a gift of an iPad. In her presentation, Principal Dutcher congratulated the 2023 Honor Graduates for their hard work and challenged them to further their educational journey. She thanked Rick Whaley and the Citizens Bank of Americus staff for the donation to make this possible.
